The Movie Movie

"Wow!"

submission: The Movie Movie
date: September 18, 2009

This one was perfect, it shows how your videos production improved since you first submitted Hay Wars. The video quality was great in this one, you managed to keep a good quality even though you had to cut the size of the file. And the light was better than in BTS 2 - there was no very dark scene as in BTS 2. So that's a good point.

One problem though, I'd like to hear better the voices; the voice's sound was actually quite bad I think it comes from the camera mic right? Subtitles would have helped me to understand the whole thing :P. There was a weird delay on the voice at the very beginning of it when it say "Fronickproductions present...", was it intended? It was quite odd to me. Other than that, the musics you chose were good and fitted well the video.

The concept was awesome itself, I liked the idea of a movie inside another movie and that sort of "making of". Kudos for writing the script, it was well written and I assume it was hard to do it because of that "movie inside a movie" thing.

Great humour in this one! The scene I liked the best was when the ninja walks behind you, falls and kills you with that zukini; it was very funny. Awesome acting performance by Nick with the window pane action, it was greatly done. Kick ass production overall :D.

Beneath the Sheets 2

"Funny"

date: September 16, 2009

I liked the whole because of the jokes it contained and the funny acting of Nick, my favourite part was when ghost shouts at Nick who jumps on the table and spills his plate. The lazer attack made me smile as well. What's more, I enjoyed the subtitles you added to it since I wouldn't have understood a single word that Nick says without them, a very noticable improvement here. But still, the audio (voices) sucks :P.

Though, the video is too much dark off and on - when Nick enters his home and when he's dreaming - I've hardly been able to see what was on the screen while the dream part. Good choice of audio even though the soundtrack was quite on the backgroud.

Some funny shit all around :).

Stick Dudes!

"Needs more work"

submission: Stick Dudes!
date: June 23, 2009

The overall feeling I had when the flash ended up was that you could have spent more time on it, maybe making it shorter in order to focus on the details.

The animation wasn't horrible and decent for a beginner at flash, I couldn't do better myself. Though work on the smoothness of it, try to make fluid since those lines moving were quite rough. I noticed the movements were really fast and the scenes really short, I advise you to make the actions slower and the scenes longer, it will be less painful for our eyes ;).

I didn't like the drawings to be honest, they were to childish for my taste. Spend more time on the details of the drawing, especially for the backgrounds of the scenes, try to use thinner lines also. Though I keep in mind you are twelve and that you do a better job than what I could do, so I can't criticise to much.

I tried to find any plot in your flash but I didn't find any, it was just a fight and we don't know why these guys are fighting, I just recognized some famous characters but it doesn't really count as a proper plot. As for the audio, you did a good choice and the sound quality was quite close from the original track, so good job.

Overall, keep practising, you are on the right way.

Dr. Claw

"Enjoyable"

submission: Dr. Claw

The funny thing is that I used to watch Inspector Gadget when I was a kid... in French obviously, so once again it's cool to see how it does sound in another language.

Nice voice performance, you managed to literally change your voice tone to a dark and deep scary voice, the illusion is perfect - unless it's your regular voice ;P. It was good for a 6 seconds clip, though I expect to hear a bit more material from you next time.

And I won't comment on the equalisation, you know it all.

Author's Response:

Yeah, the six second part was a little banter between myself and Bahamut in the Levelup! Lounge. Basically, it culminated with me recording this first thing on a week day morning, so I recorded it and published it straight away. Not the best thing, I'll admit, but this will change when the new Mic arrives :)

Falling to pieces/What's Done

"Heavy shit"

date: October 29, 2009

Man I dig this shit! I was impressed by the guitar tone from the very first second, it was very precise sharp. And the bass tone is sexy as fuck, one of the best tone I have ever heard, honestly. Overall, it seems you worked more on the tones than in your previous songs, even though it's a rough mix.

The vocals were fucking great, the first verse reminded me of Dream Theater, something from the previous album, when the drummer and Labrie sing together, it's great! The chorus was catchy as hell, I think it's stuck in my head for this day :P. I love the melody of it and your prog-ish type of voice on it.

The solo was enjoyable as well, the tapping part was killer. Then you don't play too many notes but you just play the right ones so it sounds better than any other speed guitar solo. You should have the copyrights on that lick at 3:18, I think you use it in all your solos haha.

I can't really help for the vocals but I promise I'll send you a melody played on the guitar ifI come up with something interresting. That's one of your best song, no doubt.

Author's Response:

You are right about the solos. haha. I always play that...jump up that bit of that scale sounds 80'ish, but it can lead up to a crescendo or bring down from one. Diverse, yet simple. haha.

Glad you dig it. I'm working pretty hard on all the aspects. :D

ANyways dude, always pleases me to have you stop by and leave your review and <3. You are a kick ass artist, and your support is appreciated. :D

I usually write 6 paragraphs reviews but even more wouldn't be enough to describe the wonderful emotions you put in this song... Words can hardly describe it, this is simply beautiful.

Just keep going, I'm sorry about your loss she would have loved it, I hope you will be ok soon.
