Finally a melodic piece :)

I saw you deleted several songs including the one I was in love with ... I can't remember the title though, it used to have piano with a lot of reverb if you see what song I'm talking about.

About the song itself, I was happy to discover a new melodic song from you, a slow one with nice melodies. The intro was enjoyable, the chord progression was - as in the song I'm talking about in the first paragraph - pretty simple but effective and remained stuck in my brain. Though when the piano came in, it sounded a bit weird, the piano sounded empty and expressionless, you could use more reverb and try to EQ and pan it differently :).

Other than that, I don't have anything to complain about, the drums were amazing as always and the your guitar tone sounded pretty sweet. The solo near the end reminded me of Dragon Force - No offence lmao - though the sweeping part could have been a bit clearer :). And last thing the end sounded weird, as if it wasn't finished ...

Cool job buddy, keep up the good work. 5'd.

deathkllr84 responds:

Ah, I think it was Better than Nothing.

although this isn't a new song, it's pretty old lol. The piano is horrible, I know lol.
haha dragonfoce...it did have good tone though. The 'shredding' part was kind of just messing around.

thanks man \m/

Groovy

I liked it a lot man, it was pretty solid. I'm sure that Youtube guy will be happy with it :). The riff was simple but effective as fuck, I found interesting how you played the same melody during all the song over different chords. I'm listening to it with my - beloved - headset, nice work with the panning. To be honest I would not have noticed it if you didn't say it on the author's description but yeah I like it :).

This time, the drums were perfect, groovy and well programmed. The EZDrummer snare is really powerful when you listen to it with headphones, awesome! I'm sorry I can't say much about that song since it's the same thing during the whole song but it's great enough to get a 5 and 10 :). Kick ass.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks man. I dig simple riffs a lot. They usually stick in your head longer. haha.
Also, I love the sound of my drums. I like ezdrummers snare, and the kick is my own creation from actual recorded drums.
Also, you'll be happy to know, I just picked up a SHITLOAD of more samples that I'll be trying out very soon. :D

Thanks as always for the support and review man, you rule.

Hell yeah

The beginning was really sad and mellow, I liked it. The those two chords sounded nicely and the progression was quite simple but rather unexpected, I liked the originality. What's more, I liked how you play a 3th major on a related minor chord - I think you played an A (which is the 3th major of F) on a F minor. It added some tension and increased the originality. I'm glad to see that some musicians are still original :P.

The first distortion riff was kick ass and blown my mind, the guitar tone was sweet and the the riffs that were played on the background sounded nicely. Though, I didn't like the cymbal choke at 1:36, the drum kick is missing there. The other riffs sounded very old school and I liked it, some reminded me of Metallica and some other of Black Sabbath lol.

The clean part near the end was sweet as heck, the bass and the clean guitar fitted each other very well. The delay guitar was beautiful, I remember you told me that you reversed the guitar yourself and then you added delay, it's pretty well done, I would have hardly noticed :P.

The the biggest problem with this song (and your songs in general) are the drums. You are using EZDrummer so they sound like EZDrummer so that's not my problem. My "problem" is that the programming seems to be a bit rough. Let me explain my point. Sometimes some cymbals are missing at the beginning of an important bar, sometime the kick doesn't fit the riff very well - I thinking about the first distorted riff of that song, the riff is very rhythmic and it would have been better to have the same rhythm with the kick, but that's just my opinion x).

As a conclusion I would say it's a pretty kick ass song, I see a lot of effort regarding to composition, the transitions are quite good but need a bit more of work sometimes, the clean parts were excellent and the riffs are always kick ass. Just spend a little bit more time on the drum programming :). Kick ass. 5'd.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Why thank you sir. Let me answer you by paragraph.

1 st paragraph. You said I was original, and that is awesome. The other stuff didn't make sense to me, because I honestly don't know. haha.

2 Metallica and Black Sabbath...you are my fucking hero.

3 I'm glad you like those parts. I worked hard to get them right.

4 I'm still expanding my programming. I used to be of the opinion, that drums were just providing the beat for the ass kicking guitars. I have learned that without superior playing and or programming to match the riffing, and such...that it just won't be as good. I'm not a drummer, but have been spending a lot of time listening to drum tracks on pro metal songs, and in NG as kickers songs. It will come, my friend. It will come. I also have been exporting my kick, snare, toms as separate tracks from the hats, cymbals and crashes. To make for a way fresher sound.

5 Holy fuck, a fifth paragraph. I look up to your stuff a lot, and pull a lot of inspiration from your tracks. So, no wonder you like mine. hardy har har.
Thank you for the badass review. Much appreciated.

Yay!

Some great influences in that song :). First I noticed some Metallica influences from the very first bar of the song, those four chords of the first bar remind me the first bar of The Four Horsemen, seriously, listen that song again and you'll be amazed :).

Also that harmonizations are so Metaljonus-ish, I love that a lot. That melodies sounded even more like Mj than in Suggested Etranglement :). I wish I could take my guitar and see how you harmonized your melodies but I'm way too lazy, you know ... :P.

Great sound overall, the rhythm section was nice, I really enjoyed that riff that you could first hear at 0:13 and later in the song. The rhythm was quite interesting. Though there is something I didn't really like. At 1:55 it stops but we can still hear your strings ringing, I think a brutal cymbal choke would have been better here ;). Also I have to agree with Angels about the interlude, the bass line was a bit hesitant if you get what I mean.

Overall, it was kick ass dude, keep the groove \m/. 5'd

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

I get you, bruh. I've been more careful in my songs as of late. I don't care about how many I get out. I just want them to sound great, as the music represents me. Thanks for the critique. Things to look for, for sure.
Love your reviews, man.
When you coming out with something new?

Kick ass

I remember this one a lot, I was amazed by the melodies and I still love them :P. I must have said in my review that they made me think about Metaljonus, I still think the same. The harmonizations were what gave the song a Mj feeling, great stuff there ! Very clear sound and clean playing.

I also enjoyed the rhythm guitar work, very straight and clean as the tone you have, that Pod sounds great :D. The drums were simple but effective *Kick Snare Kick Snare* lmao that sounds like ACDC dude! Keep on kicking ass dude 5'd.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks man, I'm inspired by jonus's leads for sure. He is a wicked guitarist. Though, I can't lead like the motherfucker, I can at least steal his ideas for harmonizing some slower melodic leads. haha. ha. Sorry Jon.

Thanks for the awesome review.
ACDC...hmm. awesome.

Gay

What a gay song dude! Lol, just kidding I play in a Pop Punk band although I'm a Metal fan and I really dug that song, the vocals were the best of it.

Like I said above the vocals were insanely well performed, you are great guitarist but also a kick ass vocalist. I loved how you used the vocoder, that gave that gay feeling to the song. I love it, really! The vocals were cliché but I found it funny, too bad you only put the translation, I would have loved to see the Swedish vocals. Nice harmonizations, great job overall.

As for the rhythm section of the song, that was great too, simple but pretty effective. Nice chord progression and breaks. You guitar tone was powerful and precise but I think it has a bit too much high frequencies, cut it a bit. I loved the chord at 1:20, I'm not sure of what this chord is so I won't talk too much about it ^^. Nice solos too.Solid bass line, I loved the bass lick at 1:04 :D. And as alway kick ass drums, <3.

That song could fit a Japanese anime perfectly. And this song could be in "There She Is" you know that flash on NG. Kick ass dude, 5'd and faved :D.

Dimoria responds:

Yeah it is gay ;D That was the point ;)

Kick ass dude

I'm always impressed by your Hip-Hop songs, from the first time I heard a song of yours, I knew you were a metal monster but I discovered you were a kick ass "Rap maker" a while after :D

Awesome song, with a nice beat although you made it with Fl Studio 4, so good job here. My only complain about drums would be the Ride Cymbal during the chorus, it sounded a bit weak but it's not too important. Also, it would be good to add some crashes at the begining of the choruses. I loved the "whistles" during the whole song, this and the drums gave that Hip-Hop feeling.

Nice guitar riff, it was very groovy and fitted the beat very well. The guitar tone was nice and very clean as diminitive said, that kicks ass. And the best part of the song was definitely the chorus ... what an epic chorus! The chord progression was simple but very effective and it reminded the two first songs I submitted to NG, two Scarface songs metalized :D.

The melody of the chorus was so sweet, nice vibrato. The synth pad also increased that epic stuff. Nice bass work too, I dug the tone a lot. Overall, I loved it, that guy will be proud of it ... if he ever use it :s. Anyway thanks for the contribution on my thread, I'm honoured ;).

Keep on kicking tons of asses my friend <3. 5'd by the way :P.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thank you, my brother. I've been told several times to upgrade my FL, but I can't afford to. I only just discovered the "plugin" instruments anyways. So again, its like new. And I run my FL shit through cubase, and use guitar rig effects on it, so it isn't easily recognized as FL.

Thanks also for the compliments. I was raised listening to both Metal and Rap, before the "stereotypes" took over . haha. So, its kind of a unique upbringing, musically. I liked some of the rap back then. I loved the metal, and there were a couple hybrids like this. I actually now that I've searched, found that the opening riff is similar to "walk this way" with aerosmith and run dmc. Maybe I'll change it up for the final version.

I actually made the ride less "real", to give it more of an "electronic" feel. I'll change it as well.

Your reviews kick ass, my friend. Thanks a lot!\m/ Glad you dig it.

Kick ass!

Some great riffs there dude. I liked the rhythm work you did with that song. Most of the riffs were well played and quite clean although some of them were a bit off tempo - I'm tired of repeating that thing in all the reviews lmao. Nice guitar tone, very brutal and well EQed :).

The mixing was not that bad in my opinion, I've saw a whole bunch of songs on NG with a worse mixing so it's Ok. Just add a bass line, it will allow to decrease a bit the bass level of the two rhythm guitar. I'm noticing that you just play a C in that song, it could have been a good for the Contest the Bad-Man wanted to start: "The one note song Contest" lmoa.

Nice job overall, good with the contest and may the best win \m/. 5'd.

Casualty responds:

Hahaha, yeah, it's MOSTLY C, there's some fretting too, possibly on the first and third (maybe even fourth) fret =o

But in fact I made another song, which REALLY just uses, one note! It's called uhh.. The zero song, check it out if you feel like =P It'd be perfect for the contest.

ALSO THANKS FOR THE BAD-ASS REVIEW \m/

\m/

Woah you submit a lot dude, I didn't know you were that active in the AP, I'm glad you notice that.

Nice mixing on this one, the drums and the guitar fitted well together. I must say your distortion was nice a fuck and I liked how you panned a guitar in the right speaker and the another one in the left speaker, it sounds nice. Sadly, all your songs lake of bass. A bass line would make the sound fuller and heavier. Trust me, Distorted Bass fuck the world!

Hehe, nice use of Acoustica Beatcraft, as always mofo. The double bass riffs were insane, though I don't like the ride. Also you could lower a bit the Hi Hat level, I think it's a bit over powered. Overall, I won't bitch too much about the drums since all the songs I made with Beatcraft suck :P

Keep on submitting true metal tracks bro \m/

Casualty responds:

Yeah, I'm active as fuck because I'm supposed to be studying these days... Which gives me a lot of time.

Thanks for the kind words duuuuude, METAL

Mind Blowing

Finally a full song from you, I'm glad to see you are done with your "tests" lmao.

First thing I liked, that panning thing at the very beginning, I loved how you panned that riff in the two speakers and how it moved through them. Then the second riff was kick ass although it was just an Eb lmao. The third riff was my favourite, awesome rhythm job and nice harmonisation. Though at 0:31, the bass was a bit off tempo :(. I like your dist bass tone. Overall, great riffing.

Well, the drums ... I'm in love with them. That snare is so tasty, it almost made me cry haha. Sup 1 is pure genius, I think it's better than Sup 2, at least regarding to the snare. The drums were also very well programmed, especially during the clean part, I enjoyed how you programmed the Hi Hat and the Ride, it sounded beautiful.

Let's talk about the clean part then. I totally dug the ambiance of the part of the song, it has an Oriental/Arabic feeling - Mainly thanks to the Ab Minor Harmonic Scale you used it the clean rhythm and the solo. By the way, the clean guitar solo was very enjoyable :). The last solo was impressive, it reminded me of a Kirk Hammett solo, I think it's the solo of Wherever I May Roam - 4:22 in the Metallica song and 4:08 in your song :). Kick ass!

Overall, this really made my day, keep on kicking ass dude \m/. 5'd. 4.00 / 5.00 (+ 0.067)

Dimoria responds:

Awesome review dude. Though the bass is on tempo though it plays the same as the guitar and still keeps the solid 16:ths. I knew the third riff would be your favourite since you are also a prog dude. If I'm to be honest I've never actually heard the full song wherever I may roam since I'm no bigger metallica fan. Lars Ulrich makes me want to puke. And I think that kirk hammet playes almost the same in every solo. But still thanks. I guess being compared with one of the most successfull guitarists on the planet can't be a bad thing. Glad you liked it and I'll try ;)
Cheers.

Enjoy my music :)
