You dirty bastard >:U

Ah this is a cover, I don't know that Mastodon band... Well, this is nice cover, nice riffing but sometimes, some riffs are a bit off tempo. For instance the very first riff is a bit late, but since you are a fucking true metal guy, I'm sure you don't fucking care :P.

I can assume you also don't care about the sound quality. I'm not saying it sounds bad but you could improve the mix and fix that clipping. Though I liked the time signatures. Around 1:34, I think the groove contains two bars of 4I4 and one bar of 3I4, that sounds nice :D. Your lead tone sounds a bit weak though.

Keep on rocking dude :). Also I noticed you are from Belgium. I'm from France, so we are quite close. 5'd mofo.

Casualty responds:

Hahaha, you're right! There are two bars of 4/4 and one of 3/4, just as you said. And yeah, the lead tone is just some preset of Amplitube... It probably didn't sound too good because I kept it too quiet.

Et ouais, j'ai vu que t'habites en France... Mais je passe pas souvent par Lyon =P

Thanks for the gift!

It's an awesome idea to offer the NG musician a trumpet licks pack since there is few trumpet VSTs and that nobody plays trumpet lmao.

I downloaded the pack and listened to all the samples, they are all pretty good. I liked a lot the first one in that Demo, it makes me think about a Kind entering a place with all the courtiers haha. The other ones were great too, you have a fantastic phrasing :).

Nice backing track also. Are you using Reason to make all your keyboard stuff? It sounds cool. Overall, a nice demo, hopefully it will have people downloading the whole pack. Nice going dude! 5'd

sorohanro responds:

Actually backing track is made mostly with freeware, lots of DSK plugins, I wanted te hear them in the context with real instruments ...
If you downloaded the pack, you should use it ;)
don't forget to drop me a line when you make a track with those.
Thanx for review.

Dude

That's a beautiful cover, I never listened to the original track though, so I can't compare. I loved the voices, the effects you used were great, it gave the song a psychedelic feeling. Great bass also, I liked how you mixed several music genre in that song: the bass sounded very D'nB-ish. Nice percussion in the first part, nice groove.

Though in the second part, the snare sounded a bit to harsh. I'm not again the fact to use that kind of snare, but lower a bit the volume of it. Lol at the guitar solo, you lazy basturt :P. Send me the track without the fake guitar solo and I would be more than happy to record for you really quickly :D. *

Overall, a great song. I like how you can mix different genre in a song, you are really good at it. 5'd.

sorohanro responds:

Somehow I'm in very "style clashing" mood these days :))
I'll send you the track without the fake guitar, I'm sure you'll make a great solo on it.

Thanx for review.

Epic

What an epic song dude. The piano at the beginning was beautiful. At first sight, I thought there were way to much reverb but after another listen, I understand that it was excepted. The strings sounded nice too, what software are you using for these orchestral sounds ? I'm noticing that you are using Addictive Drums, you did a nice use of it in that song, though the snare doesn't sounded that good, it has no real power, compress that shit :P. And your cymbals are low - pitch-wise - it sounds good.

Nice guitar work as always, you really got a nice tone with your G2.1u Zoom Pedal. Nice solo in the end, some arpeggios were a bit out of place but it's hard to notice so it's OK. The main chord progression was really cliché and simple but really effective. That chord progression gave the song an Epic feeling, I like it a lot.

I could swear I already heard that chord progression with a similar melody, but I can't remember in what song and when :s. Good job dude! 5'd.

TheRealSam responds:

Thanks a loooooot for your review!
Yeah I just wanted something else than a basic fade in for the piano, so I kinda messed around in FLStudio and found this nice reverb effect by accident XD
Also, I didn't use Addictive drums in this track, only Ezdrummer :p That's why the snare sounds that bad! And I'm using GPO for the orchestra!
About the chord progression, yeah it's a very basic pattern I used here, like "Intro, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Break, Chorus (with solo, just to show of... erm I mean IMPROVE MY SKILLS, yeah that's right) and Outro". The kind of pattern used in each song you ear on radio.
Anyway, thanks again and, about the guitar tone, I now use a Toneport to record my tracks, I find its sound way more precise (now I can quadtrack my songs without having any cracks :o)! I will post some new shit soon, so stay tuned bro' ;)

Nice first audio!

You have a enjoyable dramatic voice, and you really managed to get the feeling of the original speech. But as Haggard said, the ending wasn't as good as the beginning. I would advise you to tell the lasts sentences a bit faster, as Haggard said and also to speak with more "dynamics".

That my technical advises. Now about the sound, I don't know what you are using for your records, but if your software allow you to do it, add some reverb to make it sound closer as the original. Aslo if you have an Equalisation plug in, add some bass and a bit more of high frequences. And as a last advise, increase the master volume ;).

Well done for a first try. I voted 5 on it.

Coop responds:

*Advice - you asked me to keep you on your toes with English :P

My recording software is very basic - it's just Microsoft Sound Recorder, which allows absolutely no editing in the way of Equalisation or special effects of any description.

Still, I think that with this voice I might have to go and find something a little more to get me some decent audio output.

Practice will make up for the lack of feeling with the ending of the piece. I might try a few tricks to get another edit up and running before we're finished with this piece.

LOL

Nice lyrics bro, I laughed my ass when I heard that piece of lyrics. I think it was expected and you didn't try to make smart lyrics, well I like it :P. You have a really bassy voice, it's impressive. I enjoyed that voice at the beginning and in the end when you said "With a hint of brown" or " it feels great", that sounded evil. Nice vocal job :P.

About Angel's work, I already reviewed the original song and I found it bad ass, especially the kick and the riff at 1:54, this riff is killer. I have to learn it :P.

Well, a funny vocalization of a kick ass song, I guess it can't turn out badly. 5'd \m/

speedmetalmessiah responds:

Nice review man. Thanks a lot for the compliments. I was rather proud of my vocal work on this one. Turned out just like I heard it in my head. Plus that "hint of brown" line is my favorite, makes me laugh every time.

Once again, many thanks for the review bro. I'll drop by and see what new tunes you've got out when I get off from work.

What the fuck

Is that a Bad Man Incorporated song? This sound so different from your other song. The drums sounded stronger and brutal as fuck - though try to erase some mids on the kick to make it sound even more bad ass! The guitar tone was sick and wicked, incredible riffing dude. Also that bass slide at the beginning was the dirtiest I have ever heard lmao.

Nice screams too, it gave a fucking dark feeling to the song. You really impressed me with that shit dude. 5'd and enjoyed a lot.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Haha, I like the mids on the kick. If I were a drummer, I'd put a big fuckin coin on the strike spot on the bass drum for that snap. haha.
Anyways, yeah a bit different. Thanks for the awesome compliments.
You are a kick ass fucker.

Are you gonna do one of these? PM me if you do!

Nice collab!

Woo, awesome guys. Nice guitar job Bad, nice tone and great panning/mixing, it sounds sweet on my stereo, well done. Also, the solo ... dude the solo! The solo is epic, I love how you used the guitar volume at the beginning of the solo, you have a great feeling to be honnest, really better than some months/years ago. This is beautiful, man. I love you.

About Crucified job, I was really surprised. At the beginning I thought it was you singing and then I realized it was Crucified. On this song, he has a different voice, a stronger voice and he doesn't go to high if you see what I mean, really good job.

Overall, a solid collab, and finally a full song from you, Shaw, that's great. Fived and favorited. Much love.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thank you very much, man. I love your reviews and all the breakdowns. Kicks ass. There is still just ONE more version to come out. I'll be getting to the mixing and such this weekend, I hope.
Thank you very much for all your support, dude. Kick ass musician, and good friend.

Thanks.

Lmao

Man, you are incredible. When I saw, heavy metal and when I heard the first notes of the song I was like "What the fuck, Soro is drunk ?!". Then I read the description and I understood.

The backing track is fantastic, the instruments sounded great and gave that calm and chilly feeling, I loved it. The country part was funny and that slide guitar was perfect, you really master all guitar techniques, impressive. You said the backing track has been made by Dj Trabant, but what about the drums? They sound really like the drum kit you use in your other songs.

About the guitar work, it was beautiful. Your guitar tone is sweet, I love that guitar tone because of the lack of high frequences, and your feeling is awesome. Though, I agree with DicKfacE, the last part could have been a bit heavier, with a bigger guitar distortion and a stronger drum beat - for example, replace the closed Hi-Hat by the opened Hi-Hat. You can also push up the snare volume.

Overall, this is another master piece from you, each time I listen to your songs, I'm amazed. Congrats on first page and keep up the great work. Also those real music haters are ridiculous. 5'd.

sorohanro responds:

Thanx for review.
Well, I made the drums and mixed on top of the whole backing track only in the "Metal" part.
Was tricky, I had to cut out the frequencies of cymbals out from the backing track, to fit mine ... also low frequencies to fit my own bass drum.

The guitar tone ... that's a classic, I used my effects from my crappy mixer (Behringer Eurorack UB 1204 FX) ... had so much noise to clean ... oh boy ... but is not a bad fx processor ... just very noisy ...

Oh yeah, new version!

That's so sweet to see you finally managed to remaster all your songs, that must have been long and tiring as fuck ...

Well, since I already reviewed this song, I will only tell you what I think you improved. In my review I said that the toms sounded very weak and not really like toms lol, but I can easily notice the improvement here, it sounds more full and realistic although I still think it can be improved ;). I don't remember if there was a bass line in the original track, but I've heard more bass in that final version.

Great stuff overall, thanks for submitting :D. Also is your bass a shitty Stagg lmao. 5'd.

CWN responds:

:D
I've been waiting for your comments!
Yes, the remastering took... a while. A long while.
The toms sucked on the first one, because i configured something wrong in Sup 2.0, plus the tom lines just... sucked hah.
Yeah, the new ones can be improved, but fuck it!
Tried to bring out the crispness of the bass a little! Glad it worked.
Thanks for the review :D

Oh, and my bass is even worse.

Enjoy my music :)
