O.o

That is bad ass dude. The first thing I noticed is that you changed your drum kit a bit, the snare is different, it used more high frequencies. Also the kick is pure brutality, I love this kick sound with a whole bunch of high and few middle ^^. Though at 1:39, the snare sounds too synthetic if you see what I mean, not very realistic. The cymbals sound well too.

The guitar tone was nice as fuck and the bass fitted well the guitar tone. The riffing was great as always, very precise and accurate. My favourite was at 1:53, this riff is just bad ass. Though at 1:58, it would seems that the riff is a bit off tempo. This is my only complain.

This made my day, brutal as fuck as I like, thanks : ). 5'd.

AngelsDontKill responds:

Thanks a lot for the review, man, that is the best feedback I have gotten. I understand that the riff sounded a little off a few seconds into it, that would be my fault (it was just a bitch to play, haha). The snare is just a sample, so I had very little control over not letting it sound a bit synthetic. I am glad you like how everything sounds otherwise though, I did this mainly for practice. Hopefully I will pump out something a little better soon. Thanks again, dude!

Groovy!

That sounded old school as fuck \m/. That bass line at the beginning was great but used to much resonance in my opinion, decreasing the resonance would not hurt. Though when the drums came in, that matter of resonance was not to obvious so it's ok. The beat was powerful and the kit well chosen, I especially enjoyed the kick.

The guitar was a great addition and I'm happy to hear some Hip-Hop with guitar on it, that bring me some good memories. Too bad, few people make good Hip-Hop nowadays. That chords progression was nice but a bit excepted. Did you played the guitar yourself? It sounded quite realistic.

It's a good and solid piece overall, I don't listen to Hip-Hop that often but I'm going to check my hard drive and see what I have. 5'd as well.

Haha awesome

Woot, that theme is fuckin' kick ass, that melody will stay in my brain all the day. Great guitar job, your tone was nice a fuck, very "neat". Did you programmed the rest of the music yourself with Reason or did you downloaded a Midi file? In any case, the instruments were very nice. Man, I'm sure Statwhore will like this song, great job! 5'd as well.

"I'm a statman !!!"

Black-Cloak-of-Night responds:

Haha, glad you like it man. No midi here. I'm against midi's like no other! The song was uber simple to do. There were 4 patterns only. They were easily cut and paste, for the whole song. The melody is simple as well. I used two different preset beats from reasons Dr.Rex loop player. I think that is as far as I went to not program. But I did edit the beats to fit the song. So technically, its all programmed.
And well, guitar...I had no choice. Guitar is in my blood. I will incorporate it into anything I can. haha.

Nice as fuck

I really dug this one, I can hear a lot of different influences on this one. First, this is fucking Metaljonus inspired! That harmonized melody sounds very Mj-ish and that freaking rocks. Also the drums and the guitar riff from 0:02 to 0:09 reminded me of ... And Justice for all, the drums were very Ulrich-ish and this melody sounded like a lot of melodies in this album. Overall great influences and very well played.

Though, the drum sound wasn't as great as the rest, I think it used too much high frequencies, try to work on the EQ a bit. This ismy only complain. I can't say more since there isn't vocals and it's quite short. Overall it's an awesome little theme with some great melodies ideas. I'm really looking forward to hearing the full version :P. 5'd dude.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Yeah, I can't play nearly as fast, but those harmonized leads are a direct result of pounding metaljonus songs in my head EVERY day. haha.
These drums are a lot different than the version I originally sent you. I really like the eq and snap to these. I mixed them a bit louder than normal as well, so that there was a distinct sound to each sample, so that the beat could be followed just so, ya know? Also, there was a frequency sharing problem between the 3 leads, and the drums. I had to find a balance that didn't clip. Fuck I hate clipping. So I think I settled for the lesser of two evils. YOu have a fantastic ear, though my friend.
Thanks again!
I have a wrestlers song I worked on, but I'm still waiting to see if he liked it, before I put it on here.
Anyways son, always fucking happy for the input.

\m/

This music was killer, deathkllr84 has a fucking impressive riffing and rythm tone, I'm jalous :(. The crunchy guitar tone at 1:45 was "trippy" - I don't know what this word means but I think it fits well my feeling about this tone lol. Also nice use of EZDrummer, I especially enjoyed the snare.

Nice vocal as always. I'm a fan of the effects you add on your vocals tracks. I think you added distortion, some crazy EQ, delay and maybe pitch shifter. That sounds nice a heck. Great solos. I won't repeat everything I said about your lead tone in my previous review though :P.

Great work, once again. 5'd bro !

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks son, You have no reason to be jealous. You are a kick ass guitarist, with your own unique sound!
As for the vocals, there is only delay the main ones. No distortion, no nothing. The talking part, there is pre-delay, and pitch shifter. And that is it, man.

As always, it is awesome to hear from you, my friend. Thanks for the review and vote!\m/

Lol Techno

Oh crap, Bad is now producing Techno songs, it means that Newgrounds AP is dying lol. I just listened to original song and LOL. You cover is great, the instruments you used were nice and you it sounded quite professional haha. Hum, I haven't anything to say about this song ... just add fucking vocals on it with a vocoder for the laugh :P.

And keep on submitting boatloads of song to NG so I can increase my number of audio reviews lol. And speaking about audio reviews, I'm updating the top 100 audio reviewers, so make sure to stop by the thread ; ). YOu know the score ! 0'd as well.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

HA. Thanks man, I do have a version, up to the end of the first chorus with retarded vocoded vocals, but...I'll share on messenger only. haha.

As for submissions go, I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm in the process of removing some stuff. There are some reasons behind this, I'll share with you on messenger if you are interested. But basically, I'm only going to be uploading collabs and fun things like this on newgrounds from now on. :D
Anyways, thanks as always. Wish you lived closer. Love to jam with you, maybe I could learn a thing or two. :D\m/

Great melodies

Wow, this was epic. Especially the first melody from the begining to 0:05, I instantly loved this song O.o. Nice tapping bro, you are constantly improving your soloing, it's nice. Then about the backing track, HappyHommicide is the shit, I enjoyed his tone and also his way to use EZDrummer.

Just one thing about your lead tone, try to increase the middle frequences a bit to make your lead sound stronger and also a bit more "musical". Apart from this, that was a perfect try for this challenge. I should give a try to this one, but I have to many other challenges to give a try, MJ, Sorohanro and yours ...

Anyway, you know the score. Keep doing the great job, Shawn <3.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Haha, thanks man. I had a hard time mixing in a solo, because happy homicide's track is so full of frequencies. He kicks a lot of ass!
I tried a lot of tones, and some really faded in the mix, and others were just way too harsh. So I tried to find a bit of a middle ground.

I probably could have looked harder, but...I just wanted to play my guitar. I hate all the pissy stuff about recording. I just wish I could push the red record button, and everything else does what its supposed to, on its own. haha. I disliked having to learn shit about frequencies, tones, mixing, eqing, drum making...etc...when I just want to play guitar. haha.

Anyways, sorry for the ranty response. Basically, thanks for the review! And get your ass on those other challenges too!

Dark

The music was awesome, it was pure headbang material. The drudgy tempo was very enjoyable. THis Kensmalts dude has a lot of talent and his dist tone was sweet as fuck. Also did he record the drums himself? I'm wondering because it sounded very realistic.

About your work, your voice is sexy dude :P. I enjoyed the effects you added on your voice tracks, it increased the dark feeling of the song. Nice lyrics, choirs and solos, each time I listen to your songs and especially your solos, I recognize your licks, at 5:25, I already heard this lick from you :P. It's awesome.

Great piece of heavy metal as always. And sorry about the delay on the review, I was pretty busy. Also, 5'd.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks man, yeah kensmalts kicks a lot of ass. He does some wicked black metally viking ish shit. His throaty vocals are the best around.
I'm not really sure of the recording behind this. I know he went or is currently going to an audio engineering school. So...yeah.
And again, ZERO effects on my voice. Just a little delay, except at the beginning talking part..used "megaphone" effect. I may upload a vocal tutorial, on how to manage different growls and screams without fucking up your vocal chords.

Yeah, my solo's aren't really that diverse. Some licks, like that run down into the pinch, are just so fun to do. I do need to pick up some more practice on stuff other than pentatonic scales. haha. But I have been practicing some sweeping like a motherfucker. And i still suck...but there is progress...so hopfully I'll be able to sweep some scales by my next upload. (here's to hoping!)

No worries about the delay on the review, just good to hear from you, man. \m/

Funny !

I think you didn't make this to show your Metal Composer skills, I can assume you made if for the laugh. I must say it was really funny, i had a few laughs lol.

Composition-wise, it was pretty simple but effective and you did a kick ass job with the instrumental part, what instruments did you used ? Piano, clean guitar, bass and drums ? The guitar melody was nice, well composed. Though at 0:15 it was a bit so so lol. The guitar tone wasn't bad in my opinion, it sounded very authentic but I think it used to much compression, try to fix it : ).

Well, fix that compression thing and you get a 10 :P. Kick ass job 5'd.

Devastus responds:

Thanks man, yeah, it was kinda a joke on somebody that was waiting for a serious song from me, although at that time I named it so that it wouldn't be noticed before listening :P

Yeah, piano (with a lil bit of e-piano touch to it), clean guitar, bass, drums and some windpipe flutes with psychotic effects applied to 'em :P

The guitar's a bit overcompressed, I noticed that. I was too lazy to fix it though :P I might check on that a bit later however.

Thanks for the review.

Bad ass

Wow that rocks hard, you are amazing with all kind of music ... I'm jalous :P. The begining reminded me of the Imperial March lol, it must be the drudgy tempo and the Brass Section. The drums were good but I think they didn't started at the right moment. They started inside of a loop if you see what I mean, they started in the 4th bar, and I think it would sound better if they started in the 5th bar, at 0:11.

Other than that, it was pretty kick ass. The melodies were great, and the instruments you used were nice, I also enjoyed the little noise you added to make the song sounds more Hip-Hop-ish, good addition :). You should ask Bad-Man to put some kick ass vocals on it, this fucker could do an amazing work with this backing track.

So, I'm fucking jalous, with your damn fingers, you play the piano, the guitar, the Trumpet. And with these instruments you play, Jazz, Metal, Hip-Hop and so on ... You are not normal, you must be a kind of Hybrid lol. Great job 5'd.

sorohanro responds:

My wife says that I'm an alien, I think everybody else are aliens and I was kidnapped and brought here on their planet :))
Thanx for the review, I'll think about the rhythm, maybe I'll change it and put more statics in the beginning of the track.

Enjoy my music :)
